About Limber Years

Limber Years is a small independent website about gentle movement for people over 50. We share simple posture exercises, beginner tai chi, mobility routines, stretches and easy strength moves you can do at home, often with a chair or a wall for support.

The idea is simple. You do not need a gym, special gear or a lot of time to feel looser and steadier. A few minutes a day of the right kind of movement can make getting up, walking, reaching and carrying feel easier.

Why we started

A lot of fitness content is made for young people chasing big goals. When you are 55, 65 or 75, the questions are different. How do I stop slouching? Is tai chi worth trying? Which exercises are kind to my knees? Where do I even start if I have not exercised in years?

Limber Years is here to answer those questions in plain English, with routines that are short, gentle and easy to follow.

What you will find here

  • Posture: exercises and habits for rounded shoulders, a forward head and a stiff upper back.
  • Tai chi: beginner moves, tai chi walking and qigong, explained step by step.
  • Mobility and stretching: easy routines for stiff hips, shoulders, necks and backs.
  • Gentle strength and balance: knee friendly exercises, chair workouts, wall pilates and balance practice.
  • Printable plans: simple charts and day by day plans you can stick on the fridge.

How we make our content

Every article is researched, written to be safe for beginners and checked by a person before it goes live. You can read exactly how we work in our Editorial Guidelines.

We are not doctors or physical therapists, and nothing on this site is medical advice. If you have a health condition, an injury or you are not sure an exercise is right for you, please check with your doctor first. Our Disclaimer explains more.
